November was another fantastic month in the Blueberry learning community with much happening for students and staff. We had a great conclusion to our volleyball season with all teams representing Blueberry School with pride and sportsmanship. Our Senior Boys team won 3rd place in the association division capping off a fantastic weekend! Congratulations to all of our players, coaches and parents on another successful season. We are looking forward to the more of the same dedication and skill development during the Basketball season which has now begun for students in grades 5-9.
With the recent arrival of more snow our beautifully landscaped campus has been temporarily covered, but not forgotten. The Blueberry School Fundraising Committee (BSFC) is about to begin their newest campaign with the slogan soon to be released! The focus of this campaign will be to continue to transform our campus into a place for social, emotional and physical wellness. Mrs. MacKenzie and I have taken the time to meet with several students from grades 5-9 to gather their ideas and input as we begin to form a plan that will help us create a space that our students and community members can enjoy for years to come. Keep your eyes out for upcoming Blueberry School Council meetings and Blueberry School Fundraising Committee meetings where we will gather input from our parents and community members.
On a related note, we are excited at the formation of the new Blueberry School Health Team. Working under the leadership of our school counselor, Mrs. Susan Weisenburger, this team is made up of students in grades 5-9, a parent representative, administration, Ms. Smith, Ms. Jackson and Ms. Chester. Our team recently attended a Health Symposium where they began to formulate a school plan to improve the health and well-being of our students and staff. More information will be coming soon!
I would like to conclude by taking this opportunity on behalf of the staff of Blueberry School to wish you and your family a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday season.
Sincerely,
Mr. S. Patras
Principal, Blueberry School
