While all are excited for the fast approaching summer holidays, I would like to take a moment to look back on a busy and exciting month of May at Blueberry School.
We were very fortunate to have had Author Sheree Fitch skype in to our library commons to share her literary expertise with our students during Education Week. It was an inspiring literacy learning opportunity for all of our students and staff! We can’t wait to see what next year’s Education week will bring to Blueberry School!
May also saw the conclusion of the Junior Achievement Program at Blueberry School. This learning opportunity brought many lessons for all of our students, including a school wide sale organized by our grade 6 students which sold out in only minutes! Our students raised over $500 for Mutts Adored!
May provided many great opportunities for our students in grades 7-9 including the Grade 9 Party Program Field trip, our school and division track meet and the SEVEC exchange for many of our grade 7 and 8 French Students.
While it is not possible to acknowledge all of the amazing opportunities that students at Blueberry School enjoyed in the month of May, I would conclude by thanking the teachers, parents and students of grade 5 for an amazing Heritage Lunch where all were well fed and the learning from the classroom was brought to life! It was great to see so many family and community members join our students and staff for some food and learning.
As we look forward into June I encourage all of our parents to take a moment to congratulate your child on another great year and to discuss some of the successes with your child’s teacher and our educational assistants. Without the support of all, our students could not achieve.
Thank you for your continued support and efforts.
Mr. S. Patras
Principal, Blueberry School
