On behalf of the staff of Blueberry School I would like to welcome back all of our students and parents for another great year. I would also like to extend a warm Blueberry welcome to our many new students and families who have joined our community this year. We are excited for another amazing school year working together with all of you.
It was fantastic to see so many of our parents and community members today as our kids arrived for their first day of 2013-2014. Thank you to those who were able to join us for our Pancake Breakfast and school assembly. It is great to see such a strong and supportive learning community! Together we will make a difference in the lives of our students each and every day!
For those who were unable to join us today, please consider coming to our Meet the Staff Barbeque 0n Thursday, September 12th. This evening provides a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, tour the classroom and to receive a curriculum summary. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
As you are aware, the staff of Blueberry School value your input and we know that effective communication between the school and home is absolutely critical to our students’ success. Please feel free to stop in to see us before or after school throughout the year, or to call or email with questions or concerns as they may arise. We are here to work with you and your children so that all can experience a fun year full of learning and growth.
As we begin to settle in to the structure of another school year you will undoubdtedly notice several new faces on our team. Please extend a warm Blueberry welcome to Mrs. Krasnikoff (Gr. 2 teacher), Mrs. Lillywhite (Gr. 5 teacher), Ms. Thompson (Special Education Teacher), Ms. Peterson (Assistant Principal), and Mrs. Wierstra (learning coach). You may also notice another familiar face, Ms. Campbell, in a new role as a Gr. 3 teacher. Finally, you may hear your children talking about the talented and wonderful Mrs. Sharratt this year. While the name is new, the teacher is not as Ms. Smith was married this summer.
Thank you in advance for all of the support that you extend to your children as well as to the staff of Blueberry School throughout the year. We can’t wait to get started on another learning journey!
Mr. S. Patras
Principal, Blueberry School
