This blog post is focused on some of the most important changes at Woodhaven Middle School this year… our people! We are excited to welcome several new members to our team for the 2015-16 school year and would like to give you this opportunity to get to know each of them.
Mrs. Larissa Ohl is often the voice you hear at the end of the line when you call our school. Larissa has joined our team as a secretary in our office. Please feel free to stop in to introduce yourself and to put a face with the name 🙂
Ms. Christina Davidson is the newest member of our grade 5 team. Ms. Davidson comes to us with a strong background in literacy and is excited to work with our grade 5 team!
Mrs. Cleo Eddy joins our team teaching grade 7, grade 9 and working as one of our intervention teachers, working to support many of our students in grades 8&9 to ensure their success!
Mrs. Eddy would like to share…
After relocating to the Edmonton area I worked as a grade 5, grade 3 and Junior High French Teacher, at Holy Spirit Catholic School in Devon. My background also includes substitute work at a variety of grade levels in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Alberta.
I enjoy hiking, camping, and field training my dog Oscar. I have a passion for all forms of dance, from jazz, to ballroom and ballet. While I miss the ocean, I love to spend as much time as I can exploring, the Rockies, and its hidden gems!
Mr. Raman Dhaliwal joins Woodhaven’s gr 9 team teaching Social Studies and Language Arts. Raman comes from us having taught at Stony Plain Central and Blueberry most recently, as well as substitute teaching.
Mrs. Susan Ullyot is supporting our students and parents in our Alternative Learning Program this year. Mrs. Ullyot has been a member of the Spruce Grove community for several years and brings with her an extensive background supporting adolescents.
Supporting Mrs. Ullyot and her students is Mrs. Maureen Gunning. She wants us all to know that…
I am a voracious reader! I always have my nose in a book, and usually have 2 or 3 on the go at the same time. When not reading, you can find me at the hockey arena, timekeeping for the Capital City Recreational Hockey League.
I am very excited to be at Woodhaven Middle School this year. I love the family atmosphere of the school, and am looking forward to an exciting and fun-filled year!
Also new to our staff is Mrs. Janet Grabowsky who is serving as our Inclusive Education Lead teacher and also works with grade 6C 🙂 Mrs. Grabowsky travels west to us bringing with her a varied background supporting students with diverse learning needs.
We are excited to bring such a talented group of professionals onto our team this year. Please welcome them to our learning community when you see them.
Until next time,
Mr. S. Patras
Principal, Woodhaven Middle School
