Staffing Updates for 2018-19

With school year coming to an end in just a few days, I wanted to take a moment to share with our parents some of the changes that will be happening within the Wolfpack Staff for the 2018-19 school year.

As you are aware, with the opening of Copperhaven School for the 2018-19 school year, many students who currently attend Woodhaven Middle School will be transitioning to Copperhaven. While we are sad to see so many awesome Wolfpack members leaving our school, we are excited for the new opportunities that will be provided for them at Copperhaven, and are thankful for the breathing room some decreased enrolment will provide within our school.

With all of these changes, there will be changes to our staff for the upcoming year as well. We would like to wish the following staff members the best in their professional journey.

Mrs. Lovsund – Assistant Principal – Mrs. Lovsund was a welcome addition to our team this year. We were really fortunate to have had her supporting our students and families. Mrs. Lovsund will continue to support some of our families as she, and they, are transitioning together to Copperhaven School where Mrs. Lovsund will serve as the Assistant Principal.

Mrs. Kronewitt – Assistant Principal – Over the past 4 years, Mrs. Kronewitt has served our students and families extraordinarily well. She has helped forge strong community based connections for students with Family and Children’s Support Services (FCSS) and Children’s Mental Health (CMH) to name just a few of the significant contributions she has made to our community. Mrs. Kronewitt will be truly missed by staff, students and our community as a whole. We wish her all the best as she returns to her passion of teaching early years students at Copperhaven School.

Mrs. Anderson – Secretary – Mrs. Anderson is one of those cheerful voices you hear on the phone when you call to remind us your child is sick, or if you need help with powerschool or are wanting to figure out if Spring League is happening after school! Mrs. Anderson will be missed by all in our school community. We wish her well in her role as Secretary at Greystone Centennial Middle School.

Mr. Grier – Grade 5 Teacher – Mr. Grier was a welcome addition to our team this year. He has done an amazing job supporting our students in grade 5 as well as coaching badminton and serving our community behind the scenes in so many ways this year! We wish Mr. Grier all the best as he continues his journey at Prescott Learning Centre.

Mrs. Jacobs – Grade 5 Teacher – Mrs. Jacobs will truly be missed. Her work behind the scenes on Health Days, her willingness to step in and help any staff member, and her caring and compassionate relationships with kids is truly appreciated. We wish Mrs. Jacobs the best in her position at Graminia School next year.

Mrs. J. Smith – Grade 6 Teacher – Mrs. Smith has made an amazing impact on our school in just a short time with us. Through her daily work with students in grades 6&7 and her amazing Art Club, as well as serving as our coordinator for the Visual Arts Celebration Mrs. Smith has had a busy year! We wish Mrs. Smith all the best as she continues her journey at Prescott Learning Centre in 2018-19.

Mr. Dhaliwal – Grade 7 Teacher – Mr. Dhaliwal has been with us for the last few years and has built his relationships with kids not only in the classroom but through his coaching of various sports teams over the past few years, with his true passion coming through in Basketball! Thank you Mr. Dhaliwal for all that you’ve done for our kids!

Mrs. K. Bradshaw – Gr 7&9 Teacher – Mrs. Bradshaw has been a member of the Wolfpack for around a decade! During her time she has coached everything from Volleyball to Soccer and has helped develop the culinary talents of hundreds of students as one of our awesome Foods Teachers! Mrs. Bradshaw will be truly missed in our community, but we wish her the best in her teaching assignment at Copperhaven next year.

Mrs. Mcclean – Gr 9 Teacher – While Mrs. Mcclean has just recently joined us this year, she has been a welcome addition to our grade 9 team. Her contributions to our Farewell and work behind the scenes with staff on several initiatives was truly appreciated. We wish Mrs. Mcclean all the best in her work at Greystone Centennial Middle School next year.

Mrs. Fijala – Community Support Worker – Despite having been with our team for only a short time, Mrs. Fijala has proven to be an amazing support to our students and families. We truly appreciate her work in supporting our kids at school through programming such as Rainbows and Recess Club, and her work connecting families to community based resources.

Mrs. Lyster – Inclusive Education Lead Teacher – Mrs. Lyster re-joined our team this year after a few years away and was immediately welcomed back by our students, parents and staff. Her availability to support of students and families in her kind and caring way was truly a blessing to have within our community. We wish Mrs. Lyster the best next year as her career continues as a teacher at Greystone Centennial Middle School.

Mrs. C. Pitchford – Educational Assistant – Mrs. Pitchford’s willingness to help out in any way possible with our students was greatly appreciated during her work this year with our students. We wish her the best next year.

We are excited to welcome Ms. Marcie Enders to our team as the Assistant Principal and Inclusive Education Lead. Marcie joins us having previously served as the Assistant Principal at Forest Green School. Please feel free to learn more about Marcie on our website.

As you can see there are many changes on the horizon for the Wolfpack. Some future additions to our team will be a Grade 5 MCP teacher and Mrs. Murphy as a member of our grade 6 teaching team.

Thank you for helping us to celebrate and acknowledge those staff members moving onto new opportunities, and for welcoming Ms. Marcie Enders to our team.

Until next time,

Mr. Patras
