One of the more common topics parents are asking about as we prepare for a return to school at Ecole Meridian Heights School is what the Teacher Supported At-Home Learning will look like.
Perhaps the most common question that has arisen with respect to at home learning is when can students transition back into the classroom? The dates at which students will be invited back into the in person learning are as follows:
Monday, October 5
Monday, November 16
Monday, January 4
Monday, February 16
Monday, April 6
For those parents of French Immersion students, we are happy to let you know that we will be working collaboratively with Ecole Broxton Park School on our at-home learning program. At this time is that the vast majority of our parents have chosen to have their children attend in person classes to start the school year. In order to provide a French Immersion teacher to support those students at home, we will be combining students from the two schools to create classes/cohorts.
The staff at both Ecole Meridian Heights School and Ecole Broxton Park School will be working closely together to ensure that as students transition from at home learning to in person learning, their programming will continue as smoothly as possible. Teachers will be teaching the same units at the same time and will be working together on assessment conversations. When you choose to have your child return to in person learning, he/she will be welcomed back to Ecole Meridian Heights School!
For students in our English program who are participating in at home learning, we continue to work on the structure and format of this programming. We are fully committed to providing quality programming for these students and we continue to work on the details of this programming. As soon as we have more information to share we will reach out to you; however, please do not hesitate to call me at the school with questions that you might have.
While I’ve had the opportunity to speak to many of you to answer your questions, there are others who I have not yet been able to connect with but rest assured I continue to make calls daily.
I look forward to speaking to many of you in the upcoming days.
Enjoy your weekend
Mr. S. Patras
