It’s been a while since I sent a message with this blog format but there’s a lot going on at Ecole Meridian Heights School so read on!

Pink Shirt Day – Wednesday, February 23. 2022

Don’t forget to help your child show his/her commitment to standing up against bullying by wearing a Pink Shirt tomorrow (Wednesday, February 23rd). Students will learn a bit more about this day in their classrooms and will be shown a video to further explain the meaning and origin of this day. Our early years (K-4) students may watch this student created video with our middle years students learning more about this day directly from one of the originators, Travis Price, in this video.

We are Hiring at EMHS!

If you’ve been considering working in a school as an Educational Assistant, now is the time to apply! We are currently looking to for a French speaking Educational Assistant as well as an Educational Assistant for our English stream. You can learn more about these roles and can apply on our website.

Report cards and Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences

With term 2 winding down you will be able to access your child’s report card on Friday, March 11th, 2022. Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, March 15th and Thursday March 17th. Once again these interviews will be ONLINE. Appointment times and online booking instructions will be sent out in the upcoming weeks by your child’s homeroom teacher.

Dressing for the weather

You have likely noticed the significant weather swings this year, with us currently facing a bit of a cold snap. Thank you for helping us by ensuring your children are dressed to be outside even in cold conditions.

If your child has missplaced toques, gloves, mittens etc. please ask them to check our lost and found at the front of the school. Parents are welcome to come into the school to view the lost and found tables in our front entrance. Please be aware that masks remain a requirement for adults within the school community at this time.

School Registration for 2022-2023

School registration for the upcoming year is now open. All students, new and returning, must register online. You can learn more about the registration on our website. If you need any assistance with registering your child, please do not hesitate to reach out to our school office at 780-963-2289.
